About the Association

The Israeli Association of Chinese Medicine is the professional body representing practitioners of Chinese medicine who have studied at accredited colleges and schools and seek to advance the regulation of the profession. The Association began as a society and was established as a registered non-profit in 1998. It works to provide the public with tools for choosing qualified professionals in the field of Chinese medicine, and to develop and professionalise the practice of Chinese medicine in Israel In addition, the Association brings together all certified Chinese medicine practitioners under one roof, serving as a warm and supportive professional home. It therefore addresses the various needs of practitioners by offering professional support through conferences, advanced training, and workshops, with a strong emphasis on continuing education, and provides full guidance and support for both new and experienced practitioners.

Registration with the Association is conditional upon studying at an institution recognised by the Association. This is intended to ensure that members have received appropriate training and are capable of delivering professional care to their patients.

The Association holds a professional certification exam, aligned with international standards in the field of Chinese medicine as defined in the United States and other countries where the profession is regulated by state authorities.

The Association is a member of the ETCMA, the European umbrella organisation for professional Chinese medicine associations. It has also joined the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS) and collaborates with the NCCAOM, the leading certification body for Chinese medicine in the United States.

Activities and Roles of the Association

The Chinese Medicine Association is the oldest and most representative body of all practitioners of Chinese medicine in Israel and works to unite, represent, and promote those practicing the profession with the relevant authorities, while creating professional standards for certification, professional ethics, and supervision of colleges in order to maintain an adequate level of education.

vision

The Israeli Association of Chinese Medicine aims to set high standards of professionalism in the field of Chinese medicine in Israel and to ensure the public a benchmark for examining the professionalism of practitioners. The association seeks to influence the level of training of practitioners in Chinese medicine both at the level of study, at the level of practical experience (internship) and during the course of study. Our ambition is to make Israel a world center for study, experience and research to promote traditional Chinese medicine and its integration into conservative (Western) medical frameworks. We work to regulate the profession and to give priority to practitioners certified by the association in leading medical institutions in the country.
